Meet Mike

My career in design and training materials began in 1995 when Western Michigan University hired me right out of college, recognizing my talent for creating instructional content. I developed training materials for their satellite-delivered master’s program, an experience that shaped my approach to visual communication in education.

Driven by my passion for cars and product design, I later studied Transportation Design at the College for Creative Studies. After leaving CCS, I worked as a contractor for General Motors, contributing to the HVAC system design for the 2004 Chevy Malibu, refining my skills in user experience and functional design.

In 2004, I founded Throttle Media—a name inspired by my love for cars—to focus on instructional design, branding, and multilingual solutions. My company helps businesses communicate effectively through online courses, technical manuals, and locked PowerPoint presentations while maintaining a professional and engaging visual identity.

With over 30 years in the industry, I’ve blended automotive design, multimedia, and corporate training, always focused on creating work that looks professional and resonates with the audience.

Below is some of my work, which combines both my passions for design and cars.
